Here is a link to Penn State resources for making your podcasts. I am told that all ITS labs have the free audacity program (why not get it for your own computer?)
Audacity – http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
You will also need the free LAME MP3 encoder:

have fun!

Some virus stuff – what was the first virus? Depends on how you define the virus.
Some folks refer to the first PC/DOS virus (Brain – 1986)

Others look to the Apple IIe (Elk Cloner – 1982) created by a 15-year-old Pittsburgh youth

Some look to those developed for mainframe networks (pervading animal and Christmas tree – late 60′s/early70′s)

Of course there is also the earliest computer ‘worm’ (Xerox PARC in 1978-Shoch and Hupp )

A few interesting articles about the possibility of faster-than-light travel. Please understand that current science prohibits it. But science is constantly evolving, so (IMHO) it does not make sense to talk about something being forever impossible.

A google search revealing a number of articles – some pro, some con – but remember that current theories and engineering clearly prohibit it. It will take a new understanding of physics to make it possible, if it is possible.

- Ol Doc Gerry
Hi all,
I use this blog to post links to interesting science articles. I do this for use by my students and also because my memory is not perfect (.
Today is resource day …
Universe today is one of my favorite sites – be sure to check out their podcasts.
Another favorite is the NOAA Space Environment Center, which features prominently in Gerry’s podcast this week.
Science @ NASA, is yet another great site
